Weight management and primary care

Obesity places individuals at greater risk for health complications such as heart disease, stroke, diabetes, hypertension, dyslipidemia, metabolic syndrome, respiratory problems, and some types of cancer. There is evidence that even modest weight loss (e.g., 5–10 %) can reduce cardiovascular disease risk in those individuals.

Pillars of weight loss include having an activity plan, eating plan, behavior modification, and when appropriate medication management.

Wendy Wood Neeson is a Nurse Practitioner with a special interest in helping others achieve weight loss goals. She holds a Certificate of Advanced Education in Obesity Medicine from the Obesity Medicine Association.

Wendy will help you assess your cardiovascular risk factors, and formulate a plan to reduce those risk factors, which MAY include weight management.

*Please note, that if medications are appropriate, this clinic DOES NOT prescribe compounded medications.  Current clinical guidelines for the  treatment and management of obesity are followed.
